High School Heroes
-
HIGH SCHOOL HEROES is a drug prevention program for 6th-grade students, focusing on e-cigarettes, marijuana, and CBD. The program originated in 1996 through a partnership with the American Lung Association and American Heart Association.
The secret of this program’s success is the trained High School Heroes. These heroes are student facilitators who present many hands-on demonstrations. The upbeat lessons, focusing on health risks and resistance training, capture the attention of the 6th-grade audience.
High School Heroes serve as educators and mentors. The 6th-grade students receive essential information and see their “Heroes” as healthy role models.
