High School Heroes
-
HIGH SCHOOL HEROES is a drug prevention program designed for 6th grade students, which focuses on e-cigarettes, marijuana and CBD. The program originated in 1996 through a partnership with the American Lung Association and American Heart Association.
The secret of this program’s success is the trained High School Heroes. These Heroes are student facilitators who present many hands-on demonstrations. The upbeat lessons, focusing on health risks and resistance training, capture the attention of the 6th grade audience.
High School Heroes serve as educators and mentors. The 6th grade students not only receive important information but see their “Heroes” as healthy role models.
